SYRINGA DENTAL AND IMPLANTS

What are dental implants?

Made from biocompatible materials such as titanium, your Implant will connect organically with the underlying bone, creating a solid connection and anchor. A tailor-made crown completes the Implant, filling up space where the missing tooth used to be. Our Syringa Dental and Implants Post Falls Specialists are standing by to help you regain the healthy, confident smile you’re entitled to.

The implant procedure

While the process may be a bit more labor-intensive at first, Dental Implants are known to take care of, once and for all, the problems associated with a missing tooth: Single Tooth Replacement, Smile Restoration, Alleviate Jaw Pain caused by an Improper Bite, Restore Your Speech, Chewing Issues leading to Digestion Problems Provide Support for an Existing Bridge or Denture

Pre-Procedure

On your first visit, the Best Post Falls Family Dentist at Syringa Dental and Implants will take some X-rays and impressions which will be useful in planning your particular type of surgery. You and your Dentist will discuss your available options and expectations as you tailor the plan to your situation.

Implant Procedure

Once you’ve decided on a treatment plan, your Syringa Dental and Implants Dental Implant specialist will schedule your surgery.

During the first procedure, the Dental Implant will be implemented into the jawbone. Your Dentist will use local anesthesia to numb the affected area, before making a tiny incision to expose the underlying bone. They will then carefully create a small space in the bone and position the implant.

This first Implant needs some time to heal. As you recover, the Implant will be adopted by the natural bone structure, resulting in a solid and neatly fitting anchor for your new tooth to come. Once you’ve properly healed, your Dentist will place the new Crown (or artificial tooth). Sometimes, this process requires multiple visits to adjust things properly. Once both you and your Dentist are satisfied with the way things look and feel, your new tooth will be permanently cemented.

Post Care

Our Post Falls Dental Implants patients usually tell us they experience mild to moderate pain as they’re recovering from the procedure. We recommend rest for the first 24-48 hours after the surgery. With more complex procedures, you may experience a bit more pain, so allow for more time to recover. Generally, we recommend sticking to soft foods for about 7-30 days. Avoid hot foods and beverages, and don’t use straws until your mouth has properly healed in its entirety. Don’t drink alcohol or smoke for at least a week after the surgery.

With the right care, your Dental Implant will last for many years to come. Keeping up healthy hygiene practices, as well as eating properly in general, will be key to maintaining your new smile.
