OVERDENTURES
Require dentures? Here at Syringa Dental, we know that denture slippage is a concern for our patients with dentures. Everyday activities like eating or talking can become stressful situations when one worries if their denture adhesive will lose its grip, leading to teeth becoming loose or falling out. At Syringa Dental, we have a simple solution to help keep dentures in place: Overdentures.

SYRINGA DENTAL AND IMPLANTS
What are Overdentures?
Overdentures, also called “snap-in,” “snap-on” or “implant supported” dentures, connect the denture to a series of metal implants. Once clicked into place, dentures stay put, securely fixed to the implants without the need for denture adhesive.
The Overdenture Implants Procedure
In order to provide our Post Falls customers with overdentures, our Syringa Dental team will guide you through a multi-step process. First, an oral surgeon or periodontist will perform a surgery that implants two to four small metal posts that will serve to anchor the dentures. As these implants heal and become embedded in the bone over the next few months, our dentists at Syringa Dental will create a customized set of dentures that fit your mouth. Once you’ve properly healed, your dentist will secure your new dentures by “clicking” them into place upon the implants. You may require a few visits to adjust things properly.
Pre-Procedure
If you are getting dentures for the first time, your Syringa Dental dentist will meet with you to discuss the options available to you and schedule an appointment for a tooth extraction, followed by implant surgery. If you currently have conventional dentures, and want to switch to overdentures, we will schedule a consultation and surgery for the installation of your implants.
Post Care
Overdentures are removable, and can be cleaned with a non-abrasive toothpaste and soft brush, or with a water flossing device. If you have any questions about post care for overdenture implants give our Syringa Dental office a call!
With the right care, your Dental Implant will last for many years to come. Keeping up healthy hygiene practices, as well as eating properly in general, will be key to maintaining your new smile.
