YOU DESERVE THE BEST

Same-Day Crowns
In Post Falls

Your 5-star Post Falls dentist, Syringa Dental and Implants understands that your time is valuable, and that unplanned dental work can wreak havoc on your schedule. That’s one of the reasons why we offer same-day crowns.

SAME-DAY CROWNS

A crown is essentially a tooth-shaped cap that covers a tooth that has been damaged. They come in many different types of materials, from ceramic and porcelain to zirconia, resin or metal. Which material you and your Post Falls dentist choose will depend upon several factors like location of the tooth, the color of your natural teeth and how much of the original tooth remains.

What is a Same-Day Crown?

A traditional crown requires at least two office visits over several weeks. Your dentist will take a mold of your tooth and send it to a facility that manufactures a permanent crown while you wear a temporary crown until the finished product arrives. This can take a period of several weeks. However, a same-day crown is just that. You go home after your first visit wearing your permanent crown. This is made possible with digital computer-aided design (CAD) software and a state-of-the-art computer-aided milling (CAM) machine which fabricates a permanent crown that can be placed over your tooth within 60 to 90 minutes. Same-day crowns are designed to last up to 15 years.

What you can expect

What can you expect when you get a same-day crown at Syringa Dental? Here at Syringa Dental, restoring a tooth with the same-day crown process is relatively simple. First, your Post Falls dentist will identify the damaged tooth and discuss your treatment options with you. If a crown is needed, and you choose the same-day process, you will receive a local anesthesia, and your dentist will remove the damaged portion of the tooth to prepare it for restoration. Next, your tooth will be coated with a non-toxic, tasteless powder and a digital photo will be taken of your tooth. The entire impression process takes only a few minutes. You then have time to relax while the data is turned into a 3D image that is sent to a separate milling machine right in the office. Using the 3D photo, this machine turns a block of ceramic into a physical reproduction matching your original tooth. Finally, you return to the dentist’s chair, where your Syringa dentist makes the final adjustments to the crown and bonds it to the prepared tooth. No follow up is necessary, as this is all done in one appointment! Speak with your Post Falls dentist to see if same-day crowns are right for you.
